Incoming 6th Grade & New Student Orientation
Tuesday, August 19th

An orientation will be offered for all incoming 6th grade students, as well as students in 7th and 8th grade who are new to the district. An invitation was mailed. You may also view it here.

First day of school - Wednesday, August 20th

    • Full day of school, dismissal at 3:30 pm
    • Students should bring their backpack and lunch or lunch money on the first day
    • Hot lunch available for purchase, $3.95 (includes milk), cash or check (payable to MMS), or you may purchase online
    • 7th and 8th graders will receive their schedules and locker assignments on the first day
    • All students will receive District-provided** supplies and PE uniforms during the first week of school
    • Bus routes will be posted on the front doors - if you do not see your stop listed, please contact the office for assistance
 
** The District Office is providing all school supplies except a backpack, gym shoes and lunch box

New Immunization Requirements Effective, Fall 2014

For incoming Kindergarteners:

ü Two doses of live rubella virus vaccine, the first dose on or after the first birthday and the second dose no less than four weeks (28 days) after the first dose.

ü Two doses of live mumps virus vaccine, the first dose on or after the first birthday and the second dose no less than four weeks (28 days) after the first dose.

ü Two doses of varicella vaccine, the first dose on or after the first birthday and the second dose noless than four weeks (28 days) after the first dose. If child had the varicella disease, a physician’s note is required.

The majority of students receive the rubella and mumps through a single immunization called the MMR.

For incoming 6th and 9th graders:

ü  Three doses of Hepatitis B vaccine. The first two doses have to be at four week (28 day) intervals. The interval between the second and third dose shall be at least two months apart. The interval between the first and third dose shall be at least four mouths.


ü  Two doses of live rubella virus vaccine, the first dose on or after the first birthday and the second dose no less than four weeks (28 days) after the first dose.


ü  Two doses of live mumps virus vaccine, the first dose on or after the first birthday and the second dose no less than four weeks (28 days) after the first dose.
